I love listening to this guy rant.

Some of you may be familiar with Foamy the Squirrel. Well, he has a homepage.
Originally, this flash series appreared on a website called "Newgrounds.com" but has now evolved into a sort of online trend. Though it has died down, isn't big, he still posts on this site and sells merchandise like CDs. Often he posts rants (as voice recordings) relevant to current topics like politics and such, but he does have a few random animations that are funny to watch.
I encourage you, if you're into dark humour and angry ranting squirrels, to go to this website.

OC #1: Prescription drugs.
Could this possibly the next drug epidemic?
There's a prescription drug for almost every little defect in the human body. What concerns me most about this is the fact that almost everyone nowadays is on some sort of prescribed somthing or other and that doctors will pass out prescriptions to almost anyone who asks. Almost anyone.
Now, I do know that there are some people that do need these medications to function properly, like myself for example. But its the potential of abuse/addiction that comes with the drug. And the risk is high amoung young adults. Whether it be peer pressure, side effect of the drug resulting in dependency, or just flat out abuse.
Here's a website that I found with information on prescribed drug abuse: http://www.whitehousedrugpolicy.gov/drugfact/prescr_drg_abuse.html

OPPs
Michelle on "Materialism"-
Okay, the "" marks weren't intended as being bad.
This post is a strong one. It's very true. You are right, today in modern Western society we have become, if you will, comfortably numb. We emphasize the importance of material items like electronics, clothes, money. If you turn on the TV, 24-hours a day, advertisements for stuff is in your face again. Billboards and street signs flash this as well. The more stuff you have all the more happy you will be! I don't find this to be true. Sure I'm no better than the average American about hoarding things, but I could be better.
Like you quoted: "That man is the richest whose pleasures are the cheapest. -Thoreau".
